Si inaugura il 4 Ottobre alle ore 19,00 presso il Conference Center di Tebe in Grecia lo SPHINX FESTIVAL THEBES, ideato da Konstantin Angelou e Polyxene Kasda. Il Festival è patrocinato dal Ministero della Cultura, dell’Istruzione e dello Spettacolo di Atene, dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Atene, dalle Università, dal Museo Nazionale di Tebe e dal Comune di Tebe. Il Festival è un progetto artistico nello spazio urbano e sociale della città di Tebe, dove artisti, scrittori, scienziati, architetti e personaggi della cultura internazionali si incontrano e interagiscono con la città, proponendo idee e soluzioni per la creazione della città del futuro, cioè lo spazio dove si vuole vivere. L’argomento del Festival è l’enigma che pone la Sfinge ad Edipo: «Qual è l’animale che al mattino ha quattro zampe, a mezzogiorno ne ha solo due e alla sera tre?» La risposta è l’essere umano, concetto che qui viene rielaborato attraverso la sua posizione nello spazio, nel tempo, nella storia, nei valori, nelle sfide, con argomenti sul ruolo della tecnologia, sulla comunicazione, sulla coscienza e intelligenza artificiale e via dicendo.
In questo contesto nasce il progetto curato da Dores & Rose Sacquegna della Primo Piano LivinGallery di Lecce, presenti con la rassegna “ Una città fertile: ovvero il quesito della Sfinge”, articolata in tre distinte sessioni (GREEK WAVES, LANDGRAPHIE, CRYPTOGRAPHIE) sul mito, l’identità e l’utopia, con la partecipazione di noti artisti internazionali e registi greci.
GREEK WAVES è una rassegna di opere cinematografiche realizzate in Grecia da registi greci. Il filo conduttore che unisce queste presenze in mostra è il MITO, quella forza culturale e sociologica che si è manifestata senza precedenti in Grecia considerata la culla del mondo. In mostra i seguenti registi: Theo Angeloupolos, Stathis Athanasiou, Anastasia Christoforidou, Ifigenia Dimitriou, Dimitris Kollatos, Nikos Kornilios, Panayotis Kravvaris, Maria Lafi, Thanasis Neofotistos, Eirini Steirou & Eliza Alexandropoulou, Thanasis Tsimpinis, George Tsirogiannis.
La sessione LANDGRAPHIE presenta video-documentari di alcuni tra i maggiori artisti internazionali della LAND ART che operano con grandi installazioni, azioni e performance temporanee nel paesaggio di cui: Grimanesa Amoros (Usa), Ulrike Arnold (Germania), Richard Ashrowan (Scozia), Gilles Bruni (Francia), Christo & Jeanne-Claude (Usa), Andrea Juan (Argentina), Pam Longobardi (Usa).
La sessione CRYPTOGRAPHIE è composta da opere di visual art ( pittura, fotografia, video-installazione, digital art, collage, installazione sonora e live performance) e indaga i paesaggi ibridi dell’era tecnologica tra mito, identità e utopia con i seguenti artisti italiani: Pina Della Rossa, Gino Fossali, Maria Luisa Imperiali, Giovanni Lamorgese, Marta Mancini, Vito Sardano, Antonella Zito e Dores Sacquegna (nella veste anche di curatore) e gli stranieri Xavi De Juan-Creix (Spagna), Cor Fafiani (Olanda), Marthe Keller (Usa).

A FERTILE CITY OR THE RIDDLE OF THE SPHINX

It opens 4th October at 7pm the opening of THE SPHINX THEBES FESTIVAL to the Conference Center in Thebes (Greece). The Festival is planned and coordinated by IAA Unesco Artists Constantine Angelou and Polyxene Kasda and it is under the auspices of Hellenic Republic, the Greek Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs, the collaboration of the Athens School of Fine Arts, the National Museum and Municipality of Thebes. Sphinx 2015 is an artistic project in the urban and social life of the town of Thebes, where artists specializing in different fields, from all over the world, authors, scientists, directors and the public create by interacting with its mnemonic elements, proposing solutions to “found the city of the future”, the place we want to live in. Project Sphinx is centered around the Riddle of Sphinx which Oedipus solved by answering: “Anthropos”, a term which is an unsolved riddle in itself. The Riddle of the Sphinx re-examines the meaning of the human being through his position in space, time, history, that is, his identity.
In this context arises the project curated by Dores & Rose Sacquegna from Primo Piano LivinGallery in Lecce, Italy, with the proposal “A fertile city or the riddle of Sphinx” divided into three different sessions (GREEK WAVES, LANDGRAPHIE, CRYPTOGRAPHIE) on the myth , the identity and the utopia, with the participation of very well-known international artists and Greek directors.
GREEK WAVES is a film review set up in Greece by Greek directors. The thread that unites these presences on display is MYTH, the sociological and cultural force that has manifested itself in an unprecedented way in Greece; the cradle of the world. On display the movie by Theo Angeloupolos, Stathis Athanasiou, Anastasia Christoforidou, Ifigenia Dimitriou, Dimitris Kollatos, Nikos Kornilios, Panayotis Kravvaris, Maria Lafi, Thanasis Neofotistos, Eirini Steirou & Eliza Alexandropoulou, Thanasis Tsimpinis, George Tsirogiannis.
The thread that unites these presences on display for LANDGRAPHIE is the LANDSCAPE with seven video-documentary by very well know artists of the LAND ART and environmental art that operate with large temporary installations in the landscape such as: Grimanesa Amoros (Usa), Ulrike Arnold (Germany), Richard Ashrowan (Scotland), Gilles Bruni (France), Christo & Jeanne-Claude (Usa), Andrea Juan (Argentina), Pam Longobardi (Usa).
The session CRYPTOGRAPHIE consists of works of VISUAL ART ( painting, digital art, photography, collage, video-installation, installation, live performance) and investigates the urban and hybrid landscapes between MYTH, IDENTITY and UTOPIA with following artists from Italy: Pina Della Rossa, Gino Fossali, Maria Luisa Imperiali, Giovanni Lamorgese, Marta Mancini, Vito Sardano, Antonella Zito and Dores Sacquegna (also curator), and foreign artists Xavi De Juan-Creix (Spain), Cor Fafiani (Holland), Marthe Keller (Usa).
